AIM
GALxZ is a collaboration between neither exquisitely clever or gifted student but rather those who are merely curious. We aim to bring together girls from around the world and inspire them to learn Physics by promoting its beauty and relevance to this universe. We believe that through this collaboration, as a community we would have the chance to engage, connect and galvanize our minds to explore the borderless boundaries of our galaxy. It is our mission to invoke a great sense of curiosity in every girl’s mind and together explore the depths of Physics and Engineering!
WHY PHYSICS?
Physics is often seen as ‘the place for the genius’ and a ‘boy’s subject.’ Young girls often lack a sense of belonging in the field, hindering the development of their identity in Physics.
The resulting gender disparity deprives the world of fresh perspectives that can be used to solve pertinent global issues and achieve a better understanding of our reality.
Meet our team
Hello! I’m Tarunyaa and I’m the Executive Director of GALxZ. I started this organisation to spread love for Physics and the journey has been so fun. When I’m not working on my passion projects, you can find me sobbing (because my fav anime character died) or vibing to some Joji or BTS. Apart from that, I love to play my ukulele, re-read Harry Potter, and binge nigahiga. I love physics because I believe it can answer some of the big questions in life (like, why do we exist and why are you reading this?). I’ll be studying Physics at the University of Pennsylvania this fall and I can’t wait to do so!

I'm Rupa, your director of PR and I hope to connect with people and inspire them. My interests include volunteering, debate, basketball, and using Canva to do anything and everything. I enjoy aimlessly watching travel vlogs on youtube, and I'm attempting to develop a "fashion sense" while sitting at home in my pyjamas. I have an offer for biochem at oxford and I’m interested in every aspect of STEM tbh!! I’m studying a science, yet love coding and making (“engineering”) things. Maths would have been my favourite subjects if statistics and probability didn’t exist 🤡

Hey guys! I'm Ismat and I'm going to be studying biological sciences in fall. I've always had a keen interest in biology since it's fascinating to see how living things around us carry out their functions at a molecular level. Apart from biology, I love graphic design, reading, all things creative and falling into yt rabbit holes. I'm so excited to be a part of this initiative and take a step further to empower women in STEM!
